Thanks, Abby for relaying this story to our readers.
Our director of education, Liz, hosted her niece last week for a day of envelope-stuffing, activities in the galleries, and general pre-Labor Day merriment. Browsing in the Pickman Museum Shop, they wanted to get something for nephew Desmond, who didn’t get to spend the day at the Museum with them. They chose a handsome t-shirt featuring the word “Peace” written in Hebrew, English, and Arabic. Satisfied with the purchase, Isa went home with the present for her big brother.
The following exchange took place between Desmond and his mother on Tuesday morning, as he prepared his wardrobe for his debut at middle school the following day: “Peace. That’s a good thing for the first day. I think I’ll wear this shirt.”
Buy the shirt for yourself or any peace activist you love. Sizes available for M-XXL. $15.99 each.
